US forces carried out a helicopter raid in northern Syria on September 28, capturing an “ISIS facilitator” named Ibrahim al-haji Shaykh, US Central Command said on Saturday. This is the latest helicopter raid by US forces in Syria and appears to be part of an increase of these types of operations.

SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces and their proxy factions fired artillery shells on the SDF-controlled villages of Beir Ali, Beir Habash and Qaz’ali in the western countryside of Tel Abyad in Al-Raqqah. However, no casualties have been reported.

The U.S. Senate, on Wednesday, confirmed the appointment of Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. (U.S, Air Force) as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, America’s top military officer.

Brown is the son and grandson of Army veterans: his grandfather served in World War II and his father in Vietnam.
