Berlin.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a bilateral security agreement with Germany and planned to sign another with France on Friday, securing a strong signal of long-term backing as Kyiv works to shore up Western support nearly two years after Russia launched its full-scale war.

 One of the chief reporters of the German daily Bild, Jürgen Helfricht, has been fired for co-authoring a pro-Kremlin publication. The book, titled “Learning to Love Russia,” was published without the knowledge of his editors and is “one big tribute to Vladimir Putin,” German media reported.
