Parliament is expected to adopt legal amendments extending the validity of driving licenses with the “Republic of Macedonia” name until December 31, 2024 in a fast-track procedure at a session on Monday afternoon.

It is extremely hard for Greece to accept that five years was not enough time to replace people's passports, Greek diplomatic sources commented on the issuance of new travel documents in North Macedonia bearing the new name of the country and added that Skopje had not contacted Athens to ask for any deadline extensions, MIA's Athens correspondent reports.

Attending a forum on Chinese and Russian influence in the Balkans held in the US on Wednesday, North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, said that US partnership is key in dealing with malign influences in the Balkan region, Skopje’s government press service reported.

With 65 votes in favor and 3 votes against, Talat Xhaferi has been elected prime minister of North Macedonia. He is the first Albanian to be elected prime minister in RMV.

A Russian delegation that is to travel to North Macedonia to attend the OSCE ministerial summit, and which should comprise Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, will be allowed to land in the North Macedonian capital of Skopje, as the Government has decided to lift the overflight ban on Russian planes just for this one flight.
