The military operation launched by the United States to protect ships sailing in the Red Sea from attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels has caused unexpected tension between Madrid and Washington.
In light of the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip, the Humanitarian
Action Office of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and
Development (AECID) donated a shipment of medical supplies to Egyptian
hospitals where a number of Palestinian injured are receiving treatment.

Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called on the international community to recognize the
Palestinian State and admit it to the United Nations, during a press conference
with the Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium on Friday 24/11/2023.
On
Thursday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that it will push the
European Union to adopt new policies to support the Palestinians' hopes to have
a state.
