An airstrike in Gaza on the hospital where Palestinians were sheltered and treated caused more than 500 casualties.

After this attack, the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, announced three days of mourning for the victims.

In a statement issued by his office, the President also ordered flags to be flown at half-mast for the victims of "the Israeli aggression at al-Ahli Hospital and for all the people killed by the occupation."

Israel itself expresses uncertainty about the attack, as it says it does not know the cause of the "incident" and is investigating the details.

The director general of the World Health Organization also reacted to this event, strongly condemning the attack on the Arab Al Ahli hospital in Gaza.

The Canadian Prime Minister calls the Israeli attack on the hospital 'unacceptable'

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said a reported Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza was "horrific and absolutely unacceptable," reports Reuters.

Trudeau made his comments when asked about the attack, which health authorities in the Hamas-run enclave said had killed hundreds of people.

Canada has stressed that Israel must abide by international law, as attacks against Hamas killed more than 1,300 people.

"The news coming out of Gaza is appalling and absolutely unacceptable... international law must be respected in this and in all cases. There are rules about wars and it is not acceptable to strike a hospital," Trudeau told reporters .

The Israeli military said it had no details on the reported bombing.
