Unprovoked Israeli police assault on Turkish media amidst Jerusalem unrest

In a disturbing turn of events this Friday, Israeli police unleashed a barrage of tear gas against civilians in Jerusalem, intensifying tensions in the region. Notably, just moments before the assault, Turkish media fell under the crosshairs of Israeli police aggression.

The TRT Haber team, dedicated to documenting the unfolding events, experienced a physical altercation with Israeli police who proceeded to shatter their camera using the butt of a firearm. Meanwhile, CNN TÜRK correspondents Serdar Er and Yasin Kamaloğlu found themselves in the line of danger while live on air.

Turkish journalists, diligently covering the obstacles faced by Palestinians attempting to reach the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers, were met with force from Israeli authorities.

Despite the destruction of their equipment, the resilient TRT Haber reporter and cameraman pledged to persist in exposing the ongoing assaults against Palestinians.

As tensions persist, Israel once again imposed restrictions on Friday prayers in the Old City of East Jerusalem, home to the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque. This recurring pattern of limitations, enforced by Israeli police, continues to hinder Palestinians from practicing their faith in this significant religious site, the Egyptian media write
