Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan hosted Somalia's acting Foreign Minister Ali Mohamed Omar for talks in the capital Ankara on Thursday.

Somalia said Tuesday it was recalling its ambassador to Ethiopia, declaring that a controversial port deal Addis Ababa signed with the breakaway region of Somaliland was a violation of its sovereignty.

The son of the Somali president, accused of manslaughter for knocking down and killing a courier in Istanbul, has fled and is the subject of an international arrest warrant, Turkish media reported on Saturday.
