Representatives of Hamas and Iran are in Moscow Thursday for talks,
Russia's foreign ministry said.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Iranian deputy foreign minister Ali Bagheri Kani was in Moscow and confirmed reports that a Hamas delegation was in the Russian capital.
Hamas said
Thursday that almost 50 Israeli captives held by its militants in the Gaza
Strip have been killed since Israel began bombarding the strip.
On
Wednesday, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused the United
States of "directing" Israeli strikes on Hamas in Gaza that have
killed thousands of Palestinian civilians.
Israel has
heavily bombarded the Gaza Strip where at least 7,000 Palestinians have been
killed so far, mostly women and children, according to Palestinian health
ministry figures.
The
conflict erupted after an October 7 Hamas attack on Israel killed more than
1,400 people, according to Israeli officials.
