Israel
struck targeted the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt
and the Gaza Strip on Friday, Al Qahera News reported.
The Rafah border crossing has served as the sole point of delivering humanitarian aid provided by world countries and local and international organizations from Egypt to Gaza.
Israel has
struck the Rafah crossing several times since it started its war in
Gaza on 7 October, as Tel Aviv tries to prevent the delivery of
humanitarian aid to 2.3 million Palestinians who are barely surviving under
bombing and a complete food-water-fuel blockade.
Last week,
under increasing international pressure, Israel allowed the entry of a few
dozen trucks carrying food and medical supplies to Gaza.
Egypt has
been intensifying efforts to pressure Israel to allow tens of trucks waiting
with hundreds of tons of aid on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing
to enter Gaza amid a catastrophic humanitarian situation.
