In a recent survey by the newly founded “Kurdish Barometer,” nearly 60 percent of the respondents living in Turkey stated that they were discriminated against because of their Kurdish identity. Accordingly, Kurds also still believe that education in their first language is vital for them.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the Mor Efrem Syriac Ancient Orthodox Church, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pointed the finger at the pressing need for the creation of an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital. He called for restraint to prevent the escalation of tensions in the region, highlighting that adding fuel to the fire would not benefit anyone, especially innocent civilians on both sides.
