The Foreign Minister of Italy, Antonio Tajani, will visit Tirana later in the week, to discuss with the Albanian authorities the agreement on the accommodation of migrants.

“On December 22, I will be in Albania, where I will meet with Prime Minister Rama”, declared Tajani in a meeting with the ambassadors of Italy, gathered at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.

The head of Italian diplomacy will visit the countries where centers will be set up for the reception of migrants, who will be repatriated to their countries of origin, within the framework of the Rama-Meloni agreement.

“The Italian government is not worried about the suspension of ratification and in any case there is the will not to interfere in the decisions of the Albanian Constitutional Court”, declared Tajani.

During his stay in Albania, the Foreign Minister of the neighboring country will also visit the officers of the

Guardia di Financa stationed in Albania within the framework of the Italian foreign policy, who, among other things, he will appreciate for the work done and will wish for a happy new year.

On December 13, the Constitutional Court of Albania suspended the ratification of the Italian-Albanian agreement, following the request made by the Democratic Party and the supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
